It's officially Fall. We were up and out the door by 9:15 this morning to take Grace to her first day of preschool. She was so eager to see her friends and play with the doctor set. In fact, when we attennded open house last week, Grace asked Miss Colleen (her teacher) if she would please put the doctor set out for the first day of school. She really needs to overcome her shyness.
Handy husband took the morning off so we could all take Grace to school and pick her up. Upon arrival, I could already tell that this year, structure and following direction will become more of a priority in order to prep these little ones for Kindergarten. Last year, the kids were free to play as soon as they stowed their coats whereas this year, they are immediately expected to sit down for circle time and a story.
Grace, it's going to be a great year. I'm going to miss you these three mornings a week but I know you are so excited to take on this new endeavor. Yes, I will be the Mom following the school bus to school while sobbing to "Forever Young". Get used to it.
Love you.
Proud and ready to learn.
Classic "in front of school" picture.
A shot with Dad.

Just for nostalgia
First day of preschool 2010.
The two pictures are drastically different. She's such a big girl now! So glad she had a great day. :)
