a royal garage sale

Ok, so lets first address the "royal" aspect.  The romantic in me woke up at 3:30 a.m. to catch the nuptials of Prince William and Kate Middleton.  A modern day fairy tale wedding.  She looked gorgeous, iconic, classic, and royal.  The horses, the Abbey, the hats.....oh, I want an occasion to wear one of those hats.  Really, I'm now on the lookout for a reason.  The women just look so distingushed and fashionable-even with the classic "stiff upper lip".   Handy husband sighed and rolled over when I got out of bed.  He just doesn't understand why I needed to watch it "real time".  Again, it's that romantic part.  The same part that always chooses a romantic comedy, gets teary eyed when I hear of a newborn baby even when I don't really know them , bawls like baby when I'm going through clothing the kids can't fit into anymore, and thrives on a sweet and eternal love story.  It's also the part that was teary at 3:30a.m watching Prince William.  I wish his mum could have been there.  He seems to be such a fine young man.  I think she would be so proud as to who he has become.  Exactly what I want for my kids.

When we saw the replay on TV this morning, Gracie said, "there's a princess!".  Now tell me that doesn't prove that Kate chose the correct dress.

Bet these goods didn't come from a London garage sale

Moving on to the garage sale part.  Tomorrow is the big day.  The mother of all garage sales.  Between the 3 of us, we have enormous amounts of clothing, kids stuff, and housewares.  Need a bike?  We have a Trek road bike.  How about a bed, mattress, nightstands, kids outdoor slide, jewelry?  How about Patagonia, North Face, Banana Republic, Anthropologie, Nordstrom?  Do those ring a bell?  How about a laser printer? I'd love to stumble upon this garage sale.  We have mimosas ready to start our day and the weather on our side.

There is nothing royal about this

Wish us the best!  And wish that the "after" picture looks highly different than this "before" photo.
Oh, and wish William and Catherine all the happiness in the world!

  1. Diana missing it made me sad too. Kate is absolutely stunning. Just what you would picture a modern day princess to look like. Gracie nailed it!

Your garage, on the other hand, looks like a royal mess! Let's hope that the old adage, "one man's trash is another man's treasure" holds true for us tomorrow!

Can't wait to tip back a mimosa and cheers to "simplifying!"
